News Wildlife Week Walkathon 2023: Opening of forest by conducting Trekking-cum-Walk for Wildlife on 2nd October, 2023. by In-house Editor October 3, 2023 written by In-house Editor Wildlife Week, observed in the first week of October nationwide, aims to raise awareness about wildlife and habitat conservation. Chandigarh’s Department of Forests & Wildlife organized a “Wildlife Walkathon,” inaugurated by Adviser Sh. Dharam Pal and attended by officials and the public. The 10 km trek through hilly terrain saw around 1800 participants, including school children, the general public, and the media. The event also collaborated with the Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society to raise HIV/AIDS awareness among youth.
